It Goes Without Saying

Sometimes it gets away from me
I go without saying what I should say -
That I deeply appreciate all you do.
How you love and nurture and encourage
And stimulate and provoke and inspire,
And you do all of this while working
Almost tirelessly to provide and support
Not just me, byt everyone you know.

Sometimes I go without saying...
But I should say, I will say
That I see how much you sacrifice
How much you care, you share, yyou dare,
You comfort, encourage and sustain
Sometimes profoundly, sometimes mundane.
And you give tiny fragments of your soul
With every gesture

Sometimes it goes without saying
That I do not say enough or show enough
Often enough or well enough.
So now, I just want to say it
And say it again until you hear
That it has not gone without saying
