Aix Erona

Starvation fills a void inside
Where approval should be.
No desire to nourish
Or discern the reasons why
My hunger is for love
That I can comprehend
Disappearing, am I?

Seeking that elusive
Acknowledgement that I exist
Finding ruination
With your judgment
I see your craving urge
To run far away
So you won't see my body shrink
With every morsel I don't eat.

It's not a joke
Or unspoken decorum
It's not a matter of protocol
In action or thought
Or an issue of economics
That I live on Grape Nuts
Cigarettes and alcohol
And a craving to be not
