Wreck Cognition

Her face is so familiar
Like the mirror image of my own
Reversed, redefined as a woman
In her eyes is a pain
Just like my own
And yet exactly opposite
In her heart is a heaviness
Full of love and hurt
Hope and resignation
Peace and discontent
Satisfaction and longing
Her smile disguises the ache
On her tears float the joy
That is the recognition
Of something bigger than either of us
