I'm not sure when I wrote this. Like many of my early lyrics, I cringe a little when I read them, but I found a few jewels within. And I can't help but think that I did not run across these again by accident.

Sleep

So long, so restful now
Comes as no surprise now
Its all settled
You can close your eyes now
Relax now.
Sleep now... your dreams can wait

Cuddled up beside you
Whisper secrets
Huddled up inside you
Sleeping...
No one's gonna harm you
No one's gone away
Nothing can alarm you
Let go of the day
Challenges that dare you
You know they never last
All the things that scare you
Are fading in the past
And what once would hold you, once controlled you, died
Cut the strings and spread your wings and fly
You can float away

So calm... so peaceful now
You can stop the show now
Drop the curtain
You can let it go now
Drift off... its over now
Nothing left to say now
Silent slumber
You can drift away now
Ropes that bind you are behind you
Chains that hold you cannot mold you
You can chose now, you can't lose now
If you try now, you can fly now
But sleep now... your dreams can wait
You can close your eyes now

Written a long time sgo as a song lyric, and never recorded.
