I must add this caveat to the above quotes: I received an e-mail telling me that some of the quotes above attributed to Bush may actually have been said by another intellectual giant of the same party. I did my best to confirm all of the above quotes, but in the interest of full disclosure, the correction I received is as follows:
"Several of your Bush quotes, while hilarious, are actually properly attributed to the less than daft former Vice President Dan Quayle. One that jumps out at me is the 'We have a firm commitment to NATO, we are a part of NATO. We have a firm commitment to Europe. We are a part of Europe.' quote - I know for a fact that is Quayle."

The author of this e-mail went on to tell me these may also be Quayle quotes:
"I have made good judgments in the past. I have made good judgments in the future."
"The future will be better tomorrow."
"We're going to have the best educated American people in the world."
"A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls."
"It's time for the human race to enter the solar system."

I appreciate the correction. If anyone can send me evidence of Qualye's actually saying these things instead of Bush, or has any further input, I welcome it. I could simply separate the Quayle quotes to a different page - because the quotes are still funny - regardless of which intellectual giant said them first.
